Can I see a rug in my room before buying?

Yes, and rugs are the item where a preview helps most. A rug that is one size too small is the single most common furnishing mistake, and it is almost impossible to picture from a flat product shot on a white background.

Rugs are different from other furniture in one way: they lie flat and they go under things. What matters is not height but how far the rug reaches relative to your sofa and chairs. Standard advice is that the front legs of the sofa should sit on the rug, and a preview shows you whether the size you picked actually does that.

Give the room photo from a standing position, so the floor is visible in front of the furniture. A photo taken from a chair flattens the floor and makes every rug look larger than it is.

Sizes on listings are usually honest and rounded: 160 × 230, 200 × 300. Paste the link and those go in automatically.

The known limit: patterned rugs come out with the right size but a redrawn pattern. If you are choosing between two sizes of the same rug, the preview is reliable. If you are choosing between two patterns, look at the shop photo for the pattern and use the preview only for scale.
