Can I try IKEA furniture in my room?
Yes. Paste the IKEA product link, add a photo of your room, and the item appears in your space at the size from the product page. Nothing to install.
IKEA listings are unusually good for this, because every product page carries full dimensions in centimetres and the product photos are shot against plain backgrounds. Both of those are exactly what a preview needs.
One quirk to know: IKEA names bundle a product code with the type, like "BILLY Bookcase, white, 80x28x237 cm". The code carries no meaning for a picture, so what matters is the type and the colour.
IKEA has its own AR tool inside its app, and it works well if you are on a phone with a depth sensor and are only buying IKEA. A photo-based preview is for the other case: any shop, any device, and one photo you already have.
The usual limits apply. Flat-pack items with thin frames and open shelving are harder to draw than solid ones, and a bookcase photographed against a white wall in a white room is the hardest case of all.
