See a coffee table in your living room

The number that matters is the gap, not the table. Around 40–45 cm between the sofa edge and the table is the range where you can reach a cup without standing up and still walk past without turning sideways.

Height is the second one. A coffee table works best level with the sofa seat or a couple of centimetres below it. Taller than the seat and the room starts to look cluttered from the doorway.

How it works

1. Copy the product link from the store. 2. Paste it on the home page — name, photos and the listed dimensions load automatically. 3. Add one photo of your living room and put the frame where the coffee table should stand. 4. About thirty seconds later you get your room back with the coffee table in it.

Frequently asked

How long should the table be?

Roughly two-thirds of the sofa is the usual guide. The preview shows what that proportion looks like against your own sofa.

Round or rectangular?

Round earns its place in a tight walkway or with small children. Preview both — the difference in how much floor they eat is easier to see than to calculate.

Do glass tops preview well?

Less well than solid ones. Transparent material is the hardest thing for an image model to place convincingly.
