See a sofa in your living room

A sofa should leave a hand-width of wall at each end. Below that the room reads as full even when the measurements technically fit, and that is a judgement a picture makes for you far quicker than a tape measure.

The second number is the walkway in front. Keep 75–90 cm clear between the sofa and whatever faces it. If the preview shows the seat crowding your coffee table, the sofa is too deep for this room.

How it works

1. Copy the product link from the store. 2. Paste it on the home page — name, photos and the listed dimensions load automatically. 3. Add one photo of your living room and put the frame where the sofa should stand. 4. About thirty seconds later you get your room back with the sofa in it.

Frequently asked

Two-thirds of the wall — is that a real rule?

It is a rule of thumb, not physics. It matches how most rooms look right, and the preview lets you check it against your own wall instead of an average one.

What about a corner?

Corners are the hardest case, because part of the sofa is hidden and has to be inferred. Shoot the corner straight on if you can.

Should I remove the old sofa first?

If you can, yes. An empty spot gives a cleaner result than one where the old piece has to be erased and the wall behind it rebuilt.
